I Did Not Enjoy the Poem

Brooklyn, NY | USA

I did not enjoy the poem.
I could literally be doing anything else.
I could be knitting.
I could be doing dishes.
I could be going to the bathroom.
I could be staring at my hands.
Maybe I’m just a curmudgeon.
Is it because I’m sleeping better,
                        maybe?
My grogginess may have been
holding me back.
It did not hold my attention,
halfway through I zoned out
and started doing
other things, any things
to be honest.
